چکیده
The phenomenon of antimicrobial resistance threatens our ability to treat common infections. clinical pipeline for new antimicrobials is pretty much dry and hence, there a need the development agents with low toxicities help fight resistant microorganisms. This work aimed design peptides using database filtering technology evaluate their bioactivities. physicochemical properties designed were explored molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Microbroth dilution hemolytic assays used assess peptides' activity toxicity. combinations some standard antibiotics was tested by checkerboard method. In general, had charge +2, chain length 13, hydrophobicity 61%. predicted secondary structures either extended conformations or alpha-helices, these found fluctuate during MD simulations, where coils, bends, helices dominated. , peptides, BRG003, BRG004 BRG002 greatest aggregation propensities, whereas BRG001, BRG005, BRG006 exhibited lower propensities. minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranged from 0.015 >1.879 μM, BRGP-001 exhibiting high against MRSA an MIC 15 nM. BRGP-005 BRGP-006 synergistic effects Escherichia coliR when in combination erythromycin. At concentration, percentage lysed erythrocytes all comparison reference peptide, indicating activity. study revealed importance peptide self-association peptides. These provide basis potent that can further be developed use therapy.

Plant Antimicrobial Peptides as Potential Anticancer Agents
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are part of the innate immune defense mechanism of many organisms and are promising candidates to treat infections caused by pathogenic bacteria to animals and humans. AMPs also display anticancer activities because of their ability to inactivate a wide range of cancer cells. Cancer remains a cause of high morbidity and mortality worldwide. Therefore, the developme...

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), shed by gram-negative bacteria during infection and antimicrobial therapy, may lead to lethal endotoxic shock syndrome. A rational design strategy based on the presumed mechanism of antibacterial effect was adopted to design cationic antimicrobial peptides capable of binding to LPS through tandemly repeated sequences of alternating cationic and nonpolar residues. The p...

متن کاملDe-Novo Design of Antimicrobial Peptides for Plant Protection
This work describes the de-novo design of peptides that inhibit a broad range of plant pathogens. Four structurally different groups of peptides were developed that differ in size and position of their charged and hydrophobic clusters and were assayed for their ability to inhibit bacterial growth and fungal spore germination. Several peptides are highly active at concentrations between 0,1 and ...
